The increased role that environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) factors play in influencing investment decisions presents key challenges to the real estate industry, particularly when considered against a background of increased internationalisation of investment funds.
This research has undertaken a comprehensive and critical analysis of ESG factors and their role in real estate investment decision-making. Based on interviews with key real estate players globally, including institutions, private property companies, REITs, fund managers and advisory groups, this study considers the influence of ESG factors in decision-making and use of ESG benchmarks by investors to aid those decisions.
This seminar provides an opportunity to hear first-hand from the researchers, who will present their findings, followed by a panel discussion between major investors/advisors, commenting on the practical implications of these research results.
