Objective
To provide non- accountants working in the property sector with the confidence to interpret accounts and to recognise key areas that require further investigation or consideration.
This workshop will provide an overview on the structure and content of accounts and practical consideration of areas to focus on and practical questions to consider.
It will be assumed that attendees will have a basic understanding of accounts.
Workshop content will include:
• Overall framework of accounts
• The primary statements
• Consolidated and group accounts
• Basic drivers and inter relationship of numbers
• Going concern concept in today’s economy
• Valuation bases
• Creditors, commitments and contingencies
• Debt versus equity
• Group structures and guarantees
• Share options
• Pension schemes
• Other accounting practices
The course will be focused on practical with discussion and tips on how to use accounts, limitations and other practical sources of information to support any analysis of historical published financial reports.
Fees: IPF members: £120 (exempt from VAT)
Non-IPF members: £200 (exempt from VAT)
