Objective
To provide non- accountants working in the property sector with the confidence to interpret accounts and to recognise key areas that may require further investigation or consideration.
This workshop will provide an overview of the different types of report within accounts, practical consideration of areas to focus on and possible questions to consider.
It will be assumed that attendees will have a basic understanding of accounts.
Workshop content will include:
• The different frameworks of accounts
• The primary statements and reports
• Consolidated and group accounts
• Inter relationship between numbers
• Going concern concept in today’s economy
• Valuation bases
• Creditors, commitments and contingencies
• Debt versus equity
• Group structures and guarantees
• Leases and lease incentives
• Share options
• Pension schemes
• Other accounting practices
The course will be focused on practical examples with discussion and tips on how to use accounts, limitations and other practical sources of information to support any analysis of historical published financial reports.
