IPF Investment Education Programme
The IPF's industry-recognised Investment Education Programme (IEP) addresses the key areas of investment, finance and property to equip you with the latest knowledge and skills to ensure you stay one step ahead. The IEP also provides a route to MSc Real Estate Investment & Finance from the University of Reading.
the IPF Diploma
in Property Investment
The IEP is run on behalf of the IPF by the School of Real Estate and Planning at the University of Reading. The first two modules of the IEP (Investment Valuation & Portfolio Theory and Financial Instruments & Investment Markets) each comprise three-day, face-to-face teaching in London and the other four modules are each of four-day duration and delivered at the University of Reading, Whiteknights campus.
Completion of all the modules within the IEP leads to the award of the IPF Diploma in Property Investment (the IPF Diploma) and diplomates can use the designation DipIPF after their name. There is no time limit to completing the IEP and students studying for the IPF Diploma are entitled to free student membership of the IPF for the duration of the course, to a maximum of three years. Those who have completed the Diploma are fast-tracked for full IPF membership.
MSc Real Estate Investment & Finance (IPF entry route)
Having successfully achieved the IPF Diploma, students are eligible to join the University of Reading’s MSc Real Estate Investment & Finance Programme. In order to attain the MSc, students need to take a further four face-to-face modules delivered in Reading. These modules need to be completed within a six-year period, although it is envisaged that most students will complete their degree before then.
the IPF Certificate
in Property Investment
The IPF Certificate consists of an introductory online course - Introduction to Property Investment - followed by the first two modules of the IEP (Investment Valuation & Portfolio Theory and Financial Instruments & Investment Markets). These are usually delivered in central London.
The Certificate is listed by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as a Key 2 Appropriate Examination under the Managing Investments activity. Holders of the IPF Certificate will need to complete a Key 3 qualification, namely a UK regulatory examination, to meet the full examination requirements for this activity. For more information on the appropriate examinations, please see the FCA Handbook. Students who obtain the Certificate are eligible to undertake the additional three modules (taught at Reading) to gain the IPF Diploma. The IPF Diploma can be achieved as a stand-alone qualification as outlined above.
