Residential Investment Intentions Survey Briefing

Established in 2012 to inform the IPF’s response to Sir Adrian Montague’s call for evidence of how to encourage greater investment in privately rented this annual survey of investor attitudes and intentions identifies what changes in institutional residential investment have taken place over the last year.

This briefing will provide a summary of the findings from the 2017 survey, drawing on the responses of more than 50 UK and international commercial real estate investors, who own or manage in excess of £240 billion of UK real estate assets. This will be followed by a response from Stafford Lancaster, Investment Director, Delancey Real Estates Asset Management Ltd and Chair of IPF Residential Investment Group.

It will also provide an opportunity to hear how some of these participants think the Government’s plans, announced in November's budget, to eliminate capital gains tax relief for overseas buyers of UK commercial real estate in 2019, may affect this segment of the investment market.
