8:30AM – 10:00AM

BNP Paribas Real Estate, 13 Hill Street, London, United Kingdom, W1J 5LQ

In its broadest definition, crowdfunding represents online fund-raising activity using a portal to connect fundraisers and funders, creating an avenue for alternative finance. RE crowdfunding is a product of FinTech applied to Real Estate. While its early impact will no doubt be over-hyped, it is essential to understand the industry and the factors driving its growth in order to anticipate the possible implications for the wider CRE industry in the both the short and longer term.

This presentation of the findings from the IPF’s investigation of crowdfunding will explain the size and structure of the RE crowdfunding market across countries and regions and explore how regulation has influenced the evolution of the market. The role of RE crowdfunding is considered in the context of the wider RE market and the potential opportunities and risks it presents for stakeholders will also be explored.
