A Vision for Real Estate Finance in the UK (May 2014)
A report from the Real Estate Finance Group, finalising the 2013 Industry Discussion report, forming recommendations for stable market structures against which regulatory changes can be judged. Seven recommendations are made through three categories; information, analysis and expertise; incentives; and a market structured for stability. These include, centralised loan database; longer-term risk measures; risk differentiation; and introduction of regulatory governors. An appendix examines relationships between commercial real estate, the economy, and the role of debt.
