A panel discussion on how the Student Accommodation sector has coped with the impact of Covid-19 and how it is planning and looking forward to the next academic year. PBSA has been one of the most popular real estate investment sectors in recent years and with increased reliance on both overseas students and investment, the sector’s ability to control and maintain high levels of occupancy during this period has been key. During this session we explore how the sector is coping with the recent impact of lockdown, social distancing and concerns around marketing the return to full time education. Our expert panel includes experienced professionals from all the key parts of the sector covering operational issues, investment, development and lending. We will be discussing how the operators have reacted to government guidelines on social distancing, how marketing and communication with students has evolved and whether investor perceptions have changed during this period. And finally we will be considering the importance of the student numbers themselves and will have some great insight from UCAS covering their latest release of data on applications for 2020/2021.
