In October 2016, the IPF ran a seminar on the practical hurdles to establishing a large-scale institutional residential market in the UK. One of the hurdles identified was valuation methodology.
The RICS Residential Valuation Working Group has been considering this issue and the RICS will be publishing revised provisions (as a Guidance Note rather than an Information Paper) relating to the ‘Valuation of residential property purpose built for renting’ in September for industry comment.
