The next 20 years will be among the most transformative in history and the commercial opportunities available to investors will be like no other region in Europe. [Source: Midlands Engine]

Bold Stuff. What will the combined impact of the Greater Birmingham & Solihull LEP, the Combined Authority and The Midlands Engine be upon investment in the region? Our Moderator Andrew Carter will be asking our panellists to run us through the mechanics, the success or otherwise to date and prospects for the future.

Curzon Street is at the heart of a wider devolution deal. Using this as an example Liz Peace will explain the issues facing the region’s major schemes and gauge how excited we all should be about future regeneration in the region. The primary ambition of any LEP is to bring public bodies together with private practice and to attract investment from Government and Europe into our region. Katie Trout will update us on how this is looking and how sound the business case is for winning more money. Bringing together a Combined Authority can’t be an easy task. Richard Parker has been engaged with the Local Authorities that make up the Combined Authority and is working on a political settlement. He will provide valuable insight into the progress, challenges and mind-set without a political agenda.
